SPC Registration
The Supreme Petroleum Council(SPC) is the governing body of gas and oil-related industries which were founded in 1988. It not only operates in UAE but also performs its duties in other six emirates.
This governing body has the authority to take any type of decision and rules regarding the petroleum ensuring that policies are implemented accurately. SPC Approval Update
Earlier: SPC approval was generally granted only to companies with legal form Limited Liability Company (LLC) registered in UAE. This meant that branches in UAE and from other Emirates (Dubai, Sharjah, etc.) could not get SPC approval and therefore could not complete ADNOC prequalification.
Now: SPC has relaxed the rule and is granting approval to all branches, making it possible for them to proceed with ADNOC prequalification. The change is intended to simplify and speed up the prequalification process.

The approval given by the Supreme Petroleum Council is known as ‘Onshore and Offshore Oil & Gas Field & Facilities Services’. It is mandatory for all the companies who are working in the field of oil and petroleum to have their approval. It can be anything starting from consultation to supply, from catering to the issue of the Critical National Infrastructure Authority passes to get access to the sites of the oil fields. Since Supreme Petroleum Council works as the Board of Directors for the ADNOC, the two bodies have been closely related and work in coordination ever since the law was passed.
