UAE Department of Economic Development (ADDED) has made a new announcement of issuing Freelancer licenses in UAE. Freelancer licenses can be applied by UAE citizens and residents, as well as by Non-residents who are in UAE on Visit Visa

Non-Residents post-issuance of Freelance license can apply for residency visas for themselves and their families. It is important to note that applicants must possess the required skill set and experience to be able to apply for a freelance license.

Advantages of Freelancer license

  1. No need of UAE Local Sponsor / Partner
  2. Not mandatory to take office space
  3. Non-Residents can also apply for a Freelance license and can take Residency Visas along with Sponsoring family
  4. Available at minimal cost
  5. Flexibility to work remotely or  from authorized locations
  6. Freelance licenses will eradicate the need to employ people for a specific service that is required only periodically.

There are 48 activities available to choose from for the Freelance license, these mostly covers areas such as Consultancy and Services.
